1997 Ford Expedition 5.4 171000 mileage. The back tee that connects my hoses by my fire wall broke loose and dumped antifreeze into my 5th cylinder. I changed that spark plug and suctioned the anti freeze out and cleaned the coil pack. I cleared all my codes and it is running worse.

Ford has come up with TSB 14-0017 to repair this on 2013 and 2014 Ford F-150’s as well (running 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost engine) without needing to block the intercooler, allowing it to continue running at full efficiency.

Smell of unburned gas exiting the tail pipe. Rough idle and may stall. Cranks but does not start. Will not pass the emissions tests (smog check). Bad gas mileage.
Sounds like it’s backfiring only sometimes, and missing a little and it’s in limp mode, starts and idles perfectly fine I can turnt the engine light off and as soon as I give a little more gas it comes right back on. It’s a 2017 Polaris rzr xp. I’ve replaced belt and spark plugs.

Took it out on the road and it stared to miss again. It happens in overdrive and when the engine is put under load at around 2000 rpms or 65 to 70 mph. This time it did not set a code.

Oct 02, 2020 · Sometimes, the engine control unit cannot detect which cylinder the misfire occurs on and it will display the DTC code P0300 (random misfire). Some engine control modules use the resistance of the ignition coil, and when an ignition does not occur, the engine control unit measures it through the wirings, and it would result in a DTC code.

I have a 1999 Ford F-150 with a 5.4 Triton My #6 cylender injecter is not firing (seems to be no power at the electrical connection from the wireing harness that connects to the #6 injecter). I have replaced the spark plugs -the #6 coil pack and #6 injecter. The service engine light is still on! I have a 2006 Ford F-150 XLT 4X4 5.4L 3V TRITON with 128152 miles. It had a misfire under sever load. I ran an Actron diagnostic tool on it and it diagnosed cylinder 8 misfire P0308. I decided because of its miles it was time for a tune up. I replaced all 8 spark plugs with motorcraft plugs and all 8 coils with some cheap amazon coils.Diagnostic trouble codes (or fault codes) are obd2 codes that are stored by the on-board computer diagnostic system. These are stored in response to a problem found in the car by the system. These OBD2 codes are stored when a sensor in the car reports a reading that is outside the normal/accepted range (Eg: fuel mixture too rich).

A misfire in a 3.0 Ford engine occurs for all the same reasons as any other engine that has a misfire. A misfire should be diagnosed from the simplest and most likely to the more complex. A worn or dirty spark plug is the first thing to inspect. Restarting the engine will cure the problem and the light will stay on for 3-4 engine restarts and then go off. Holding the revs slightly on stopping will stop this from happening. No misfires at other times or on WOT.
